Shannon Terry currently serves as the Division Director of Program Integration Strategy at the Texas Education Agency. Prior to coming to the agency, she led the Professional Learning, Digital Learning and Library Media Services departments as Executive Director of Professional and Digital Learning for the Dallas Independent School District. Previous to her role in Dallas, Shannon served the educational communities of Arlington (TX), Garland (TX) and Fort Worth (TX) in different capacities, including Director of Professional Learning; Director of Bilingual/ESL Programs; Assistant Director/Assistant Principal for the International Newcomer Academy; Adjunct Professor at Texas Woman’s University; Curriculum Specialist; Parent Educator; Kindergarten Teacher; and Fifth Grade Teacher. She has also served as a national consultant with Modern Red Schoolhouse and Envision Education Learning Partners leading comprehensive school reform and equity work in urban centers all over the United States. In recent years, Shannon has had the opportunity to participate on multiple, national level cohorts, including the Deeper Learning Leadership Forum (DLLF), International Society of Technology in Education (ISTE) Technical Work Group, Learning Counsel Advisory Congress, and The Futures Institute Delegation. Shannon holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership, Master of Bilingual Education, and Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. She married her high school sweetheart, has two (2) adult children, and loves recreational running and scuba diving.
