Michael Parrillo is a math teacher leader at Delsesto Middle School in Providence, Rhode Island. He has a BS Business Administration from Providence College a MAT in Elementary education. Prior to becoming a teacher, he co-founded Asphalt maintenance company in 1995 of which he was the Vice President until 2002. In 2004, he began his teaching career in Arizona as a 6th grade math and science teacher, then later as a middle school math teacher. He also was Middle School and High School athletics coach from 2004 to 2012. He came to Rhode Island in 2008 and began teaching in Sterling, CT from 2008 to 2014. He taught 7th and 8th grade math following which he became teacher leader. In 2014 he began working as math teacher leader at Delsesto Middle School. This is his second year with personalized learning with the Summit platform. He has taught in urban middle schools his entire teaching career, and he loves it. Michael is an expert when it comes to teaching math and connecting it to the real world. He has a passion for teaching and is able to bring the best teaching and learning experiences to his students.
