Wendy Reitz remembers the day in Chandler, Arizona when the assistant principal dropped a computer with
the internet in her classroom in the fall of 1998. It was to be used for attendance and instant messaging
around the building. Little did we know….
Since that day, Wendy has taken a deep dive into discovering technology tools for the classroom surfacing
often to consider how computers, tablets, and smartphones can elevate large and small assessments to be
streamlined, creative, and practical. Wendy has presented numerous sessions focusing on formative
assessments at Illinois District 207 Taste of Tech and at ICE. Wendy is in her 19th year of teaching in the
English Department at Maine East High School in Park Ridge where she is an innovator and leader in using
1:1 opportunities to foster learning.
