How do we better prepare our students for tomorrow’s jobs? In this mini-keynote, meet representatives from business, higher ed, and Dallas ISD who will open a conversation about how building partnerships can help schools support college and career preparation. Then, recent Westlake High School graduate Rohit Srinivasan, will talk about what skills he learned in school that helped him launch his start-up company, Trashbots.

Telling Your Story with Tech 
Emerging technology affords a wide range of ways that students can tell their stories. These panelists will present the following examples: Creative Storytelling with Augmented Reality (Claudio Zavala), Using YouTube Class (Thom Gibson), Podcasting with GoSynth (Charlotte Dolat), & Using Green Screen Across the Content Areas (Jessica Torres).

Data Privacy  
Keeping track of evolving data privacy requirements can be a daunting task. In the panel discussion, district leaders share their stories. Karen Fuller of Cypress Fairbanks will discuss their district’s TLE Seal as well as a presentation on the Data Privacy Agreement that they use with vendors and Suzette McIntyre of Wall ISD asks: how do you know if a product is FERPA compliant? Does your school have a policy?

Personalizing PD
Jeni Long and Sallee Clark,  Instructional Technologists from Eagle Mountain - Saginaw ISD, will present ways to conduct Virtual PD using Skype, Twitter, YouTube, & blogging to collaborate and disseminate information with OneNote Notebooks & Microsoft Teams. Matthew Joseph, Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment at Leicester Public School (MA), will present academic coaching tips and collaborative recommendations for effective Ed Tech Coaching programs.

With the growing interest in Social Emotional Learning, K-12 districts are looking for tools that can help them achieve a healthier, happier school culture.
